TOP DOG AWARD

Armstrong Lions Awarded the "Top Dog Award" in Canada for the $25,000 raised for the purchase of a Service Guide Dog!!!

Presentation to LC by DG Debbie Bostock from Kamloops

Our fundraising for a Service Dog for someone in our community is complete and thank you Lions supporters we were successful.  The Armstrong Lions raised $25,000 through various projects to bring a dog here for a qualified applicant.  Projects undertaken for fundraising have included a Pig Raffle and Pancake Breakfasts and weekly Bingos held every Tuesday at the Oddfellow's Hall.

Our Lions Eye Centre at the Pleasant Valley Health Centre was the vision of Mr. Tom Nordstrom.  We are proud to have this first rate facility in Armstrong, supported by all the Lions Clubs in our zone as well as community support to make sure the equipment is state of the art and available to serve the residents of the North Okanagan.  We fund raised $108,000 to purchase an ARGON Eye Laser in 2017 and our project now is to bring a Dog Guide to a resident in Armstrong.  We are the Knights of the Blind and WE SERVE proudly!

St. Patrick's Day Dinner!  The Armstrong Lions Club will be hosting the event March 15 2020 at the Armstrong Oddfellow's Hall.  Funds raised from the pie auction will help raise money for our guide dog, and also help with our Bursaries that will be awarded to graduates of Pleasant Valley High School.  Family fun and friendly, it's sure to be a sell out again this year.
