Feeding the elderly: Members of the club assist a local senior center (Canton Woods Senior Center) in the planning, preparation, planting, harvesting and routine care of a vegetable garden throughout the growing season.  The garden typically includes tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, cucumbers, summer and winter squash.  The harvest is brought into the senior center for members to take home, assuriung the members of some fresh and healthy produce.  This project usually requires a minimum of 200 hours through the growing season.

Central New York Bike Give Away (CNYBGA): Each year, starting in late fall the CNYBGA starts collecting unused bicycles from willing donors and performs necessary maintenance and repairs on the bikes to make them completely ready to ride.  Members of the Baldwinsville Lions Club volunteer in the repair process each year leading up to late December when approximately 650 - 800 bikes are given away free of charge to anybody that needs a bike but cannot otherwise invest the resources to own one.  This project requires a commitment on the part of members in excess of 300 hours.

Fully inclusive swing set:  After 2 years of planning and fund raising, the Baldwinsville Lions Club started the purchase and installation of a fully inclusive swing set placed in (Lions) Community Park.  The swingset includes a very unique platform swing designed specifically for wheelchair bound children.  The set also includes 2 standard sling seats and a "Mommy and Me" swing for both a mom and child up to 18 months old to swing while facing each other. See our photo gallery for pictures of the completed swing and a wheelchair bound child using it for the first time. The preparation of the site, installation of the swing and coimpletion of the play surface required in excess of 250 hours.
