2020-21

Club has performed various activities in the area of Environment protection, awareness of paediatric cancer and organ donation.A blood collection camp was also organised On 17th October at Parel where 93 bottles of blood were collected by Jagjivanram Hospital Blood Bank for the benefit of patients in need of blood at the hospital. This Has been well appreciated as the most of blood banks in the city were almost emptied of blood owing to then Covid pandemic situation.^p^+++++++ 2024: Organised seminars on Orga Donation,Effective communication, Breast cancer diagnosis and treatment at various institutions. Distributed Notebooks,drawing paper,charts and other stationery To students of Parmanand wadi Municipal public school,Donated plants to Khalsa College Butterfly garden, participated in a huge Diabetes Awareness rally at Kala Chowki and all other medical camps,Hunger projects, Olympics for special children etc.

2021-22

Lion S.C.Pathak took over the charge as president of the club. The same Lion M.k Kashyap was appointed as Region Chairman Region IV by District Governor Lion Prasad Panvalkar. The performed very well despite the loom of covid threat all the time. Most of the meetings were conducted on line, but still our lines were on streets doing hunger projects, Distribution of essentials,medicines to covid effected families, conducting blood donation camps. Even in this condition a grand zone social was done by ZC Lion Pravin Kharwa and a supreme court lawyer was invited as key note speaker in the Region Conference of Lion M.K.Kashyap with 100+ audience.

2022-23 and 2023-24

A promising Lion R.B. Dixit was nomited and elected by members in the year 2022. He has performed unexpectively well dring his year. A number of Hunger project, Medical check up camps , Eye check up camps, Seminars on Diabeties, organ Donation and paediatri cancer were conducted in schools, colleges and public places for the awareness. a massive tree plantation project was carried out at Rialway yard at Matunga Workshop. Owing to all this good work,he was reelected in the next year as president and repeatedly exceeded expectations. activities worth 2.5 Lakhs were done dutring this period..

2024-25

board of directors reinvited Lion S.C. Pathak to steer the club this year as president. a lot of new activities were conducted during his tenure e.g. a seminar on effective communication, seminar on cancer awareness for women , seminar on Organ Donation etc along with regular activities of hunger ,environment, blood donation etc. A great twinning activity of Youth education -donation of Note books, Drawing papers, stationery pen,pencil and other items of student need was conducted under chairmanship of Lion M.K.Kashyap, DC, Education for Youth. Total 14 activities worth 2.5 Lakhs were done during his tenure.

1. Blood Donation.

20/07/2024

.A mega Blood Collection Camp was organised as a twinning project of Lions Clubs of Parel

and Queensway in association with Central Railway Mazdoor Sangh and Blood bank staff of

JJ Hospital ,Mumbai at Auditorium above Canteen of CRCW, Matunga at 9.30AM on 20th

July,2024. Shri Vivek Acharya, CWM, was the Chief GUEST and Lion MJF Viraf Mistry,

DG Distt.3231A1 was the Guest of Honor. The activity was carried out in presence of 20 lion

members, 5 Leos, several Railway officers, workers and hundreds of willing Blood donors.

Total 103 bottles of blood was collected. A special campaign was made for Thalassemia

Organ donation awareness

An interactive seminar is organised with the assistance of Leos of GN Khalsa College,

Matunga, Mumbai at the Conference Hall of Khalsa College at 11.00 AM on the subject of

Organ Donation Awareness, sponsored by Lions Club of Bombay Parel. Dr.Sandip Bhurke,

the eminent Nephrologist, would be the Keynote speaker.PDG Lion Bhavna Shah ,the chief

guest , Mrs Kavita Pandey, Leo head of College, Mrs ,Principal are invited. District and club

Lions ,Leos and College students are the audience.

An eminent Dr. Bhurke Consultant Nephrologist & Kidney Specialist, was invited as Keynote

Speaker. He gave a wonderful audio-visual presentation on organ donation. He enlightened

the participants about what is organ donation/transplantation, which organs can be donated

and under what circumstances, what is procedure and what are constrains. Legal, medical,

social, religious, emotional, financial and other aspects related to organ

donation/transplantation were explained. Participants were also apprised about a fact that how

a number of lives can be saved by organ donation of one person. Audio video presentation

was followed by very interesting interactive question answer session.

In excess of 150 participants were beneficiaries of this Organ Donation Awareness

Programme. About 100 persons who were inspired by Dr. Bhurke’s presentation signed

Donor Cards which is an expression of wish to donate organs. Rs.8000.00 was approximate

expenditure of the programme.

Dr. Bhurke’s presentation on Organ Donation was very inspiring, interesting, informative,

educative and thought provoking. We are very confident that this programme will go a long

way in creating awareness about importance of Organ Donation and will help in removing a

lot of misconceptions related to this subject.

3. 21.09.24 Plantation of trees

15 flower blooming trees were planted in the Butter Fly Garden of NG Khalsa College

Matunga to attract butter flies and beutify the garden. DG Lion Viraf Mistry attended along

with VDG and other district dignitories and planted trees in presence college principal

,teaching staff, Parel Lions and a number of Leos of Khalsa College.4. 24.08.24 ART OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

An interactive seminar on the subject of Art of Effective Communication with District

Governer Lion Viraf Mistry as Key Note Speaker, is àrranged by Lions Club of Bombay

Parel for the benefit of Young Railway Officers, Technicians and Engineers working at

Matunga Central Railway Carriage Workshop. CWM Shri Vivek Acharya has agreed to be

Chief Guest to motivate their staff. This activity is an effective tool in social build up and

refining the image of Lionism in public at large.

5. 01.10.24 BLOOD COLLECTION CAMP

PARTICIPATED IN BLOOD COLLECTION CAMP ORGANISED BY LIONS CLUB OF

CHURCHGATE ALONG WITH 24 CLUBS OF THE DISTRICT WITH THE BLOOD

COLLECTION SUPPORT FROM J J HOSPITAL, MUMBAI. 107 BOTTLES OF BLOOD

WERE COLLECTED INA DAYS TIME. DISTRICT GOVERNOR LION VIRAF MISTRY,

HIS MICRO TEAM, ZCs, RCs AND LION MEMBERS FROM 24 CLUBS ATTENDED

THE ACTIVITY. SOME LIONS DONATED THEIR BLOOD ALSO ALONG WITH

VOLUNTEER COMMUTERS OF CENTRAL RAILWAY LOCO AT DADAR CENTRAL

STATION.

6. 02.10.24 HUNGER PROJECT

PARTICIPATED IN THE ACTIVITY OF PROVING LUNCH AND DINNER TO THE

INMATES OF SHIV KALYAN KENDRA, HANUMAN TEKRI, SARDAR NAGAR,

ANTOP HILL, MUMBAI, SPONSORED BY LIONS CLUB OF CHURCHGATE AS A

DISTRICT ACTIVITY IN OSW FOLLOWED BY AN ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME

FOR ATTENDING LIONS AND INMATES OF SHIV KALYAN KENDRA COMPRISING

OF CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR RELATIVES . A CHEQUE OF RS.151000 WAS

GIVEN TO MR. PANDEY THE MANAGER OF KENDRA FOR FEEDING THE

HAPLESS INMATES FOR 15 DAYS.

7. 04.10.2024 HUNGER PROJECT

A MULTI CLUB DISTRICT ACTIVITY WAS ORGANISED BY LION DR JAGANNATH

RAO HEGDE AND HIS MIDTOWN CLUB FOR SERVING LUNCH TO INMATES OF

SANT GADGE MAHARAJ DHARMSHALA AT DADAR(e). LC OF PAREL ALSO

PARTICIPATED IN THE ACTIVITY. DG AND ALL DISTRICT LEVEL CLUB LEVEL

LIONS DIGNITORIES WERE PRESENT ALONG WITH LOCAL LEADERS. AN INPUT

WAS PROVIDED REGARDING LIONS INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO THE

PUBLIC PRESENT THEIR WHO WERE CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR RELATIVES

FROM DIFFERENT PART OF BHARAT. FRESH MEALS WAS PREPARED IN

DHARMSHALA AND SERVED BY LIONS TO INMATES.

8. 05.10.2024 EDUCATION FOR YOUTH

YOUTH BY DONATING LONG NOTE BOOKS, DRAWING BOOKS, CHART PAPERS

AND STATINERY ITEMS TO THE 500 STUDENTS OF PARMANAN WADI MPS

SCHOOL AT PAREL MUMBAI ALONG WITH 5 CLUBS OF DISTRICT. DISTRICT

GOVERNOR LION VIRAF MISTRY WAS THE CHIEF GUEST OF ACTIVITY. VARIOUS DISTRCT DIGNITORIES, PDGs, RC,ZC AND LION MEMBERS ATTENDED THE

ACTIVITY AND ENJOYED THE PLEASURE OF HANDING OVER NOTE BOOKS,

DRAWING BOOKS, PEN, PENCIL AND STATIONERY TO THE YOUNG STUDENTS

OF MUNICIPAL SCHOOL IN PRESENCE OF THEIR PRINCIPAL AND TEACHERS AS

A SUPPORT FOR THEIR ONGOING EDUCATION AND LITERACY.

ALONG WITH OTHER CLUBS OF DISTRICT PARTICIPATED IN ACTIVITY DISTRICT

GOVERNOR, VARIOUS DISTRICT DIGNITARIES AND LIONS OF VARIOUS CLUBS

ALONG WITH LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB AND MORNING WALKERS

PARTICIPATED IN ACTIVITY. MUSIC AND REFRESHMENTS TO ALL WAS

ADDITIONAL ATTRACTION.

10. 20.10.2024 YOUTH VISION SCREENING

Participated in Medical check up camp for Diabetes check up, Eye check up and correction of

sight with specks, Bone density, ECG, physician consultation and Ayurvedic prescriptions for

general health and immunity boosting. The camp was conducted at Kirti Night school,

sewree,Mumbai sponsored by Pragati education Trust and Lions Clubs Bombay Elite, Parel,

Shivaji park, Sion and Midtown as a twinning activity. The adult students who are working in

day time and join classes at night time in this school were benefitted immensely. PIOs Lion

Jagannath Hegde, Lion Santosh Chauhan and Ist VDG Lion Feroz Katrak chaired the meeting

and inaugurated the activity. Shri C.S.Shinde, president of Pragati Mandal trust thanked all

attending Lion Dignitaries and Club Lions for their help in arranging this activity.

11. 05.11.2024 HUNGER PROJECT

Balikashram is a Governmet sponsored home for orphan girls in a specific age group at

Dadar. The lodging, fooding, schooling etc. All facilities are provided to them by a

Government appointed supervisor and other staff who run the institution with a meagre

Government aid and donations received from various NGOs. Lions club of Parel is long

associated with this institution and donates regularly. This activity is to sponsor and serve one

day meal to these girls by Lions members.

12. 14.11.2024 DIABETIES AWARENESS

A massive rally of various schools, students, teachers, NSS and NCC volunteers with March

Band and placards with slogans of eradicating Diabetes was organised by Lion Dr. Jagannath

Hegde along with members of 30 Lions Clubs and District Dignitaries to spread the Diabetes

Awareness in local community. The rally culminated in a local school of Kala Chowki area

where a huge camp was organised for lecture on awareness and Diabetes detection,

medication in Allopathy, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Ayurved and other alternate therapies

along with medicines distributed free of cost to hundreds of patients diagnosed.13. 30.11.2024 CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME

An interactive seminar on awareness of breast cancer symptoms, diagnosis and its prevention,

treatment in women

staff and teachers of GN Khalsa College Matunga. Lion Pramod Dalmia from Lions Club of

Sion, as a key note speaker emphasised the need of screening for early detection of breast

cancer in women with a power point presentation. He also informed and discussed the causes

of cancer, alarm bells rung by body itself, various types of cancers, tools, tests required for

early detection as the dreaded disease is curable, if detected early. Kasturi Foundation offered

deep discounted screening of breast for women at Manav Seva Sangh Diagnostic Centre,

Matunga at the venue itself. DG Lion Viraf Mistry, ZC Adil Bhesadia, MCS Lion Ravindra

Kadel and all lions of Parel club, Leos of Khalsa college attended the activity.

15. 13.01.2025 SPECIAL OLYMPICS SWIMMING COMPETITION

AS A PART OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS ,LAST SPORT ACTIVITY OF SWIMMING COMPETITION WAS

ORGANISED AT YMCA SWIMMING POOL, AGRIPADA, MUMBAI AT 9.30 AM ON 13TH JANUARY.

ALL PARTICIPANTS OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS PARTICIPATED WHOLEHEARTEDLY IN THIS

COMPETITION AND THE WINNERS WERE SUITABLY AWARDED. ALL WERE OFFERED LUNCH

AFTERWARDS. DG AND OTHER LION DIGNITORIES, GOVT OFFICIALS, NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

ALL WITNESSED THE SPORTS ENTHUSIASTICALLY AND ENCOURAGED THE CHILDREN.

16. 23.01.2025 YOUTH EDUCATION -NATIONAL INTEGRATION

An interactive seminar was organised by Lion TCS Pillai, District Chairman National

Integration through Lions Club of Parel in association with Tulsi Secondary Education

School, Parel for the benefit and education of its students and staff. Lion Firdaus Shroff, an

eminent speaker, socialist, educationalist and actor was the key note speaker. Lion Ravindra

Kadel, past Multiple Secretary and PIO was the Chief guest who inaugrated the seminar by

his eloquent speech. Lion Jagannath Hegde PIO and ex-Sheriff of Mumbai and Lion Pawan

Agrawal 2nd VDG were the guests of honour. Lions S/shri Susheel Pathak, M.K.Kashyap

and R.B. Dixit enlightened the students about history of National Integration, its importance

in present scenario and the need of awareness among students to have a feeling of Bhartiya

first and their religion, caste, creed, culture afterwards. An Essay competition on the subject

was also arranged in which 26 students participated and promised to be suitably awarded in forthcoming events. Around 100 students, teachers, staff and various Lions dignitories

attended the function along with Lions and Leos.

17. 07.06.2025 BLOOD COLLECTION CAMP

A blood collection drive was organised by Central Railway Mazdoor Sangh, Mumbai at

C&W Workshop, Matunga Central Railway on the request of JJ Hospital Blood bank

owing to acute shortage of blood in hospitals. Lions Club of Parel attended and joined the

activity with CRMS. Lion S/shri R.B.Dixit, TCS Pillai and M.K.Kashyap attended the

activity. The workshop staff and workers whole heartedly participated in blood collection

drive. About 100 bottles of blood were collected from the volunteers of Railway workshop.

2025-26

On strong persuation of Directors and Club members Lion M.K.Kasyap was elected as president to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Club. On the day of his installation, he has felicitated all the members of club by garlending with a golden chain and Lions pendent. He motivated the members to sponsor new members and promised to welcome them in the same fashion. As such 4 new members were inducted in the club so far and expected to add few more. Various twinning activities are conducted in this year A legacy project is also planned to start a smart class in Tulsi Manas Higher Secondary School, Parel with an estimated expenditure Of Rs.7 Lakhs.

accident victim railway passengers from

09.08.2025 Participated in Twinning activity of 26

clubs organised by DC Cyrus Surti for the

benefit of inmates of Sant Gadge Maharaj

Dharmshala at CST on the auspicious day

of Raksha Bandhan. The Ladies inmates

were prompted to tie Rakhi to all

participating Lions of various clubs

including DG and PDGs and were gifted

with beautiful Sarees and sweets. 120

bedsheets were also donated for inmates’

use to institute management. Food for

lunch was served/ distributed to each

inmate residing there temporarily to take

care of their dear and near ones who are

admitted in nearby hospitals for

treatment of dreadful diseases. Most of

the inmates are from remote rural areas

of country with poor background. The

Dharmshala offers them shelter and food

at a very nominal cost quite often

compensated by NGOs like Lions Clubs.

27.09.2025 One day meal was served to Cancer

patients and their attendant relatives, the

inmates of Suryakheetra Foundation,

Kharghar, Navi Mumbai on 27th

September 2025. This Foundation

provides accommodation, food and

transport services to poor cancer

patients and their relatives coming from

remote places of Orissa ,Bengal and

Jharkhand for their treatment at nearby

Tata Cancer Hospital at very nominal

charges. They are also being provided the

medical advice and facility for Railway

reservation for their return travel. The

chairman Dr. Mishra and trustee Mr.

Panigrahi are themselves Lions Club

members. President and 4 other

members of Parel Club attended the

activity.

Foot as a humble contribution.

09.10.2025 Lions Club Bombay Host has arranged

with the help of other NGOs and an

exhibition of various products made by

disabled, but skilled boys were displayed

for sale for the benefit of these persons.

Lions of Parel Club also participated in

Parel dist 3231A1 and Lions Club of

Mumbai Metro Distt 3231A3. Around 30

blankets were distributed to the poor

society workers and employees of

Kalpataru Garden CHS at Kandivali E,

Mumbai for giving some relief in the

winter season to their families. The

activity was conducted in presence of

non-lion society members. Lion UC Gupta

of Parel Club contributed the cost of

blankets and lunch while Lions of Metro

contributed the cost of banner, carry bags

and biscuits distributed along with. A

brief introduction of Lions international

history, purpose and glimpse of activities

was given by various Lion speakers for

the benefit of community.

Railway Carriage Workshop, Matunga.

The air-conditioned New Canteen Hall

was provided by Railway authorities for

this humanitarian purpose. Lions club of

Bombay parel jointly with the donations

given by other clubs like South hill,

Bombay central, Pydhonie, Byculla clubs

and philanthropists like Lions S/shri

Gopal Bajaj, Hemant Jain, Pramod Shah

carried the activity successfully in 2

consecutive days. 130 bottles of blood

were collected from hero volunteers.

They were given a beautiful Tiffen as gift

with gratitude by Lions clubs. All

members of Parel Club, other Lions clubs,

RC and RCA Region IV attended the

activity. CWM Shri Vivek Acharya was the

chief Guest.

A very inspiring and motivating speech

was given by Mr. Hemant Joshi, a

prominent corporate speaker, on various

aspects national unity in the context of

Republic Day and Indian Constitution. He

also enlightened the audience regarding

our ancient cultures and mythology,

impact of western culture on modern

society and how to assimilate it with

Indian culture. An informal speech was

given by chief guest Lion Manish Ladge

regarding Lionism, LCIF donations,

Memberships and Lions activities for

knowledge of audience at large.

03.02.2026 DISTRICT FUNCTION: During president

to president Meet with International

president LION A.P.Singh at CCI club in

Mumbai, an specific activity of donating

AI enabled Drushti camera spectacles to

200 visually impaired students of 2 Blind

schools of Mumbai was organised by

Lions Sujata Hirawat, District activity

President Visit.coordinator. These specks ,each costing

Rs.17000/- were distributed with the

hands of IP as a symbol of Lions

commitment to help the deprived section

of society to transform the lives of

people. After the activity an interactive

session of questions- answers with IP

was arranged which enhanced the

knowledge and insight of all the club

presidents of District 3231A1.

12.02.2026 A special Olympics was arranged by Distt

chairman Lion Udeshi and his team of

Lion volunteers eg Lion Deepak Topiwala,

Sanjay Mehta, Lion Radhesh Gandhi,

Lions Club of Shivaji Park and other 19

clubs of District. 1000 special children

including visually impaired, physically

and mentally impaired students of 30

Schools for Disabled in Mumbai

participated in various sports activities

e.g. running, jumping, javelin throw etc

with the help of their teachers and

coaches. The winners were suitably

awarded with medals and gifts. All

District Dignitories, Club members, local

administration and Community

Luminaries watched the event. A lot of

Donors liberally donated

funds,food,gifts,water etc. to make the

event successful. All the participants

were given a memento in the end.
