Brechin & District Lions Club

Tee Up Fore Charity

SUNDAY AUGUST 27, 2017

Cedarhurst Golf Club, Beaverton, Ontario

The Brechin & District Lions club is once again holding their annual “Tee Up Fore Charity” golf tournament. Last year we had over 90 golfers out and with the generous support of local businesses and community minded people like you, the club raised just over $9,000.

Tournament proceeds help our Brechin & District Lions club fund local minor league baseball, hockey and swim programs, Brechin school events, Ramara youth soccer, Beaverton Fall Fair, Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Ramara Medical Centre, Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs, Lions Club Camp Kirk for special needs children and Georgian College Dominican Republic humanitarian aid programs, to name only a few.

We are graciously asking for your support. Hole sponsorships are only $200 and are essential in helping us to reach our goal this year of raising $10,000.

“Tee Up Fore Charity” has become one of our major fund-raising activities for the year, so if you or anyone you know may be interested in joining us for the day, please give us a call at one of the numbers below. The cost, which includes a BBQ lunch, 18 holes of golf, golf cart, putting contest and a steak dinner to top it all off, is only $120 per person. Payment by cheque at your earliest convenience can be made out to the Brechin & District Lions Club and forwarded to P.O. Box 89, Brechin, Ontario, L0K 1B0.

Please if you can ... Help us to help others

Electronic E-waste & Metal Collection Fundraising Drives

In 2014 & 2015 the Brechin & District Lions club organized Electronic E-waste & Metal collection fundraising drives, which resulted in the collection of many tonnes of electronic E-waste & scrap metal. The Brechin & District Lions club in cooperation with The Ontario Electronic Stewartship program teamed up to assist local residents with ridding their homes, basements and garages of old electronics and disposing of them responsibly. The proceeds from these events went to support the Brechin & Mara Royal Canadian Legion Branch 488.

"Hoping In Hell"

The Brechin & District Lions club assisted in the printing costs and book sales of Hoping In Hell, written by Brechin & District Lions club member Howard Raper and fellow Brechin & Mara Royal Canadian Legion Branch 488 member Robert J. “Flash” Clayton. The proceeds from ongoing sales of the books are being used to assist the Brechin & Mara Royal Canadian Legion Branch 488. The book is a biography of Robert J. “Flash” Clayton who spent 3 years and 8 months as a POW in Hong Kong and Japan. His anecdotes are a fascinating read. Copies of the book can be obtained through Heather Shier (705) 305-0948 or at the Brechin & Mara Royal Canadian Legion Branch 488 for $19.95 plus tax.
