Ken Lloyd

Ken became a Lion in 1972 when he joined the Bishop, California Lions Club. For many years there, he was the Chairperson of the Lions Club Food Booth at the Bishop Fairgrounds, a major fundraising project that has been ongoing for about 30 years.  He was the Tail Twister there for many years as well as a Director.  In 1997-1998, he was elected the President of Bishop Lions Club.  From 2007 to 2009, he was the District 4-L1 Zone Chair, and from 2010 to 2017, he was the District 4-L1 Region Chair.

He served on numerous committees, including the Youth Exchange Committee, White Cane, Student Speaker, and the LCIF Grant Committee for Round Fire Relief.  Of note, the Fire Relief Committee spent about $9,000 to raise $127,000 for victims of the Round Fire.  He won many, many awards there, including Lion of the Year in 1988-1989 and five International President Awards between 2007 and 2016.

He didn’t stop being active in Lionism when he moved to Carson City.  He continues to serve as a Tail Twister here and is the Chairman of the Vision Preservation Committee.  In 2020, he was awarded the Carson City Host Lions Club “Lion of the Year.”

Congratulations to Ken for 50 years of stellar service!
