Meetings

The membership of the Chambersburg Evening Lions Club is very active in District 14-T’s free “KidSight Vision & Hearing Screening Program” for children ages 3 through 6 years Our trained members volunteer to conduct screening sessions at preschools, day cares, head starts, libraries, medical centers, and health fairs to identify young children who need treatment for vision and hearing disorders by healthcare professionals.

The KidSight program is a preliminary procedure only and does not constitute a diagnosis of, or absence of, vision or hearing problems.  79% of pre-schoolers nationwide are not screened for vision and hearing. Children cannot learn or socialize if they cannot properly see and hear.

Chambersburg Evening Lions Club is committed to screening and educating our community on the importance of early testing.  Our club has 57% of its members trained to work at a KidSight screening.  We take seriously our Lions’ motto “We Serve.”

Contact Jay Keefer at 717-264-7591 for details or to request a free screening session for children.
