Cheadle Lions Club

Staffordshire, England

Cheadle Lions Club was formed in 1987 and for over 30 years has been supporting the people of Cheadle and its surrounding communities. We are a service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in our local communities, but when needed support, national, and international emergencies.

Membership is open to men and women who are able to devote some of their spare time to provide service to their community.

We raise funds to support our Service and emergency activities through a wide variety of events, such as Concerts, Quiz Nights, Raffles, an annual Christmas Collection and Easter Eggs.

Every penny of money raised or donated goes to support our charitable and service activities. No monies raised or donated goes towards the administration of the Club and members pay for the running of the club through an annual contribution.

Since our formation we have raised many thousands of pounds for needy causes both at home and abroad.

Local beneficiaries have included:-

Homelink, St John Ambulance, Cheadle Army Cadets, Local Scouts and Guides, Churnet Valley First Responders, Cheadle Disabled Club, Disability Sports Groups, Paddles Swimming Club, Douglas McMillan Hospice,  , Donna Louise Trust, Cheadle Pensioners Club, Annual Senior Citizens Treats, and many more local and overseas causes.

We also donate to overseas disaster appeals through the Lions Club International Foundation.

However, its not all about raising money and members as they are able give freely of their time and provide direct charitable help to the community to support our Service initiatives, such as "The Young Leaders in Service" programme we undertake with local schools.

Members also enjoy a varied social programme with games nights, a formal dinner, parties, trips, quizzes, etc.
