College Park Maryland

"Home of the College Park Lions"

You will find a wealth of friendliness, history and fun in College Park, Maryland. Founded over 150 years ago, College Park still celebrates its small town heritage. Home of the flagship campus of the University of Maryland and just minutes from our nation’s capital, Baltimore's resurgent inner harbor, and Maryland's state capital in scenic Annapolis, College Park is an ideal place to live, work and play.

Collge Park's well-balanced economic base arises from a combination of federal, state, and private employers. College Park is home to the American Center for Physics, Commerce Bank and Stone Industral. It also is the site of the Washington Post Plant and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration building. The College Park Metro Station brings the businesses and cultural landmarks of Washington, DC within easy reach of its residents.

Residents and University clientele create a demand for the necessary and the unusual. The College Park business community offers a unique variety of shops and services seldom found elsewhere.

College Park has a long and cherished history and is site of the world's oldest continuously operating airport where many "first" events in aviation took place. Over the years the College Park Lions have distributed trading pins commemorating these events. College Park also has the Rossborough Inn. In the 1800's the Inn served as the first stage stop after leaving Washington DC, and was visited by several distinguished travelers, such as George Washington.

We invite you to visit College Park and while in the area, attend a College Park Lions Club Meeting.
