Cromwell Lions Club was formed in 1969 and has continued to serve the Cromwell community since then. It was our 50th anniversary in 2019. The club is now a mixed club after having been a mens club since its charter and has a membership close to 60. Cromwell also has two other Lions clubs - the Lake Dunstan Lions Club (ladies club) and the Cromwell Golden Age Branch of the Cromwell Lions Club (mixed ).

•2022 Kindness Matters Service Award

• This award is given annually by Lions Clubs International to a handful of Lions clubs internationally for performing an outstanding service project in one of our global cause areas. In Cromwell’s case the Cromwell Lions Club, along with assistance from other Lions Clubs, helped fill a 20ft container worth of food and supplies and shipped it to the Island of Tonga which was impacted by a volcano eruption and tsunami limiting it's access to mainland supplies
