The Dallastown Lions Club has named Lion Amie Wade as our new Eye Screening Chair for our club.  Our district organization of Lions has purchased an eye screening machine for the three counties in our district; York County, Adams County, and Cumberland County.  This machine cost our district $10,00.00 and will be used in these three counties to screen children from the age of 6 months to 6 years of age.

Lion Amie has already conducted a training session with Lions from our area and with our Leo Club in our local high school.  Everyone learned how to operate the machine and how to run a screening event.  She will be targeting pre-schools and day cares for this free eye screening.

Anyone interested in having this service is to contact our club @ and Lion Amie will contact you immediately.

The Dallastown Lions Club has named Lion Joanne Morris as Diabetes Awareness Chair for our club.  Diabetes is at epidemic levels in our county and it effects many things, sight being one.  Diabetics can lose their sight with this awful disease and Lions International has taken this disease on to improve the lives of diabetics and to help to preserve their sight.

Lion Joanne has had type 1 diabetes since the age of 12 and has lived with it all of her life.  She has a wealth of knowledge that she will share with our community.  Lion Joanne will be tasked with diabetes awareness in our club and throughout our community.  She will be providing information on this disease through our website and throughout our community.  If you have any questions about diabetes, please contact us at or visit our Facebook page.
