The Decatur Lions Club supports Lions Clubs International by participating in the used eyeglasses, used hearing aids, and used cell phones recycling programs by donating to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation. Purchasing food for distribution to the Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry on a regular basis is another ongoing service project.

There are two projects for 2024- one of which is a service project and the other is a project to generate funds for local relief as well as LCIF disaster relief. The service project will be funded by the Decatur Lions to provide and serve lunch to the residents of a retirement tower in Decatur on Halloween, October, 2024.

The second project promotes the sale of fresh south Georgia pecans to residents of Decatur and surrounding DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. The funds collected from pecan sales will be used to benefit lions club initiatives, and the sales will begin in November, 2024

The service project for 2022 was the purchasing of valentine cards and candy for the residents of a retirement facility in Atlanta on February, 2022..

At the monthly meeting on March 9, 2021, the Decatur Lions Club honored Mrs. Mai Cavalli with the Senior Citizen of the Year Award for Decatur for 2021.

On July 3, 2021, the Decatur Lions Club partnered with the American Red Cross to establish a site for a blood donor drive in Decatur. Several lions volunteered throughout the day by checking in blood donors, securing the waiting area, and providing refreshments after the donations.
