Who Are The Defuniak Springs Lions Club

We are now proudly serving the Defuniak Springs community after restarting the local club within the past year!

Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That's because we help where help is needed.  In short, We Serve!

Here are some of the things our club has done recently:

  • Assisted local residents with eyeglasses and eye exams
  • Have in process applications to assist needy residents requiring cataract surgery
  • Have in process applcations to assist needy residents requiring eyeglasses
  • Have drop off box at WalMart for eye glasses no longer needed by local residents for reuse by those in need
  • Provided donations to aid Healing Tools For Wounded Warriors program
  • Plan to hold Candy Days to raise funds for local projects
  • Collected, counted and sorted nearly 1,000 + pairs of used eyeglasses annually
  • Held a Christmas Dinner at Cafe NOLA to raise funds to put back in the community
  • Held a New Years Eve dinner at Cafe NOLA to raise more funds to help the community
  • Plan to research ways to help the homeless in our community
