Meetings

What we do.

Like any other Lions Clubs around the world, we exist primarily to raise funds to help those in need, though we much enjoy our fellowship evenings.

You might see us collecting on behalf of other charities; We also dress up as Santa’s or Snowmen ‘clanking’ our collecting tins outside local supermarkets at Christmas and, maybe, singing carols to help us keep warm.

You may hear of golf competitions, auctions, quizzes, Boot Sales, Pig races, Charity Raffles, celebrations of St. George’s Day or Burns night and a variety of other events. Who says that fund-raising can’t be fun?

Over the years we have helped other local clubs or joined together to run an event.

The club also organises cream teas for old age pensioners … and many other things.

Nationally, we have contributed to many worthwhile causes and, on an international level, made donations to the sufferers of disasters.

We have collected for various charities over the years. We will be making our annual Christmas collections in Novembe and December!

Some of our members will be dressed as Santas, Snowmen or even Christmas Fairies? *shaking* our collecting buckets outside local supermarkets or public places at Christmas time! The Eastwood Lions club collects for good causes during November & December every year, thanks to everyone who have donated over the years each Xmas.

*shaking is just a metaphor –
our members know we are not allowed to shake our collecting buckets anymore*
