Geronimo Lions Club is on the grow again! PDG Charles Villeneuve - LCI Foundation

Lauren Smith - Seguin High Band Boosters

The Geronimo Lions Club at the regular meeting had as speakers Seguin High School Band Booster Lauren Smith and SHS Band Director Stan Maulden. 
They both explained the trip the band will be making to New York City over spring break.  Smith and Maulden are pictured with David Reiley, Geronimo Lions Club President, receiving our donation of $500.00.

Kendy Gravett - Seguin Chamber of Commerce 

Geronimo Lions Club had as the guest speaker Kendy Gravett, President of Seguin Chamber of Commerce. She shared just a small part of what the Chamber does and that was an incredible amount!  Pictured with Gravett is Mary Reiley, Geronimo Lions Club Member.

Mary Jo Langford - Court Street Coffee

Geronimo Lions Club enjoyed our speaker from Court Street Coffee Shop, Mary Jo Langford.  She educated us on all types of coffee, difference in the grinds and shared delicious brewed flavors with us. Pictured with Langford is Vicki Bierstedt, program chairman for Geronimo Lions Club.

Past District Governor Ron Heinemeyer performed the induction ceremony centered around the parts of a bike how they all work together to make it a successful efficient machine.  The theme was picked due to the clubs recent decision to once again sponsor The Tour De Pecan bike ride that is part of the Seguin Pecan Fest Celebration in October

Byron Riedel - Best Texas Travel

Growing Our Pride  - Welcome Lion Rania Lange 

Our Geronimo Lions Club is proud to welcome Rania Lange to our pride. She was a presenter at one of our meetings, saw how wonderful our club is and decided to join for a roaring time! Geronimo Lions Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday morning at 6:30, we are always excited for visitors at the "Big Red Barn".

Master Gardeners of Guadalupe County - Treva Hicks

Geronimo Lions Club enjoyed a visit from Treva Hicks with the Master Gardeners of Guadalupe County. The Master Gardeners are an awesome source for information related to plants, gardens and various pest control methods. They have very talented speakers that can visit your club or organization to help you plan a successful gardening adventure. They also have a regular program on KWED Radio.

Welcome Steve Alyea - Geronimo Lions Newest Member

The Geronimo Lions would like to introduce our newest member Steve Alyea.  Steve is active in the Seguin community where he works as a financial advisor. He enjoys the outdoors as well as cooking on his BBQ rig.  Steve's sponsor is David Reiley


Native Plant Society - Kathryn Berch

Kathryn Berch presented a very colorful and historical program on the use of Native Texas Plants and how to reintroduce them into your yard.  Native plants use less water and are better suited to our region then exotic or introduced species.  Native plants come in a variety of colors and sizes that will fit almost all landscaping needs and many are naturally deer and insect resistant.  Another benefit is that native plants provide food for Monarch Butterflies as well as other pollinators such as bees.  Many local nurseries stock native plants so visit one soon to reintroduce hearty native plants to your landscape.


Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers

Ken Kiel and Dawn Southwell presented an interesting and insightful program on the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers Program at our February 18th meeting. The Geronimo Lions meet on the first and third Thursday of the month at 6:30 am at the Red Barn where we have interesting and knowledgeable speakers bring us up to date on local events and organizations. We welcome you to join us and see what exciting things we have to offer.

Seguin Canvas and Awning

The Geronimo Lions Club was educated by Seguin Canvas and Awning. Rania Lange with business partner John Muzny gave a wonderful presentation on all aspect of their work to cover Texas and beyond.  Pictured with Lange and Muzny is Lion Director Vicki Bierstedt.

Laura Torres - CASA

The Geronimo Lions Club had as a guest speaker Laura Torres, Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator with CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. This organization covers four(4) counties.  Guadalupe County is low in volunteers, so if you are interested contact either office in New Braunfels or San Marcos.

Geronimo Lions Club meets at 6:30 am on the first and third Thursdays. We will be having our First Friday Feast on February 5th. Hope to see you at a meeting, all welcome!


John Gesick - Seguin Heritage Museum

Geronimo Lions Club was excited to welcome John Gesick with the Seguin Heritage Museum for a visit. Heritage is so very important to our future generations and he is a vital part of the preservation. Pictured with Gesick is Vicki Bierstedt, Geronimo Lions Club Program Co-Chairman.

Chef Avenell Bistro - Downtown Geronimo

The Geronimo Lions Club had a visit from Danny Vincent who works for Chef Avenell Bistro.  The Bistro is located in Geronimo and a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful food. We will all have to get in there! Pictured with Vincent is Vicki  Bierstedt, Geronimo Lions program co-chairman.

Brian Wallace - Seguin Brewing Company

The Geronimo Lions Club hosted speaker Brian Wallace who is the owner of the Seguin Brewing Company at our November 19th meeting. Yet another Seguin success story keeping business here at home. Their product can be found in this area with plans to expand. We enjoyed learning the process of making craft beer.
