Massey H. Roe

12/6/1901 - 3/5/1999

Massey H. Roe was a member of Hagerstown Lions Club since 1942 where he maintained perfect attendance.

He was president from 1947 to 1948 and District Governor of 22-W from 1949 to 1950.

He served a two-year term as an International Director of Lions Clubs International from 1952 to 1954.

He received numerous awards for his efforts on behalf of the association, including the 100 Percent District Governor Award, Extension Award, Advanced Key Member Award, 14 International President's Awards, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor bestowed upon association members.

He was advisor to the Lions Vision Research Foundation, Inc. for Multiple District 22.

He was a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and was honored with 15 International President's Awards for Outstanding Service to the Association.

He was the founder of and a heavy contributor to the Massey H. Roe Youth Foundation which awards scholarships to deserving students attending college.
