Contestants in  theYouth of the Year Quest - 2009 /10 Zone 8b Final

held on 1st March 2010 at Dural Country Club.

The Hills Rural Lions Club was once  again asked to host the Zone 8b section of the Lions Youth of the Year 2010. The participants were Lachlan Armstrong-Sue - Castle Hill High School, Henry Jones - Oakhill College, Jessica Waterson - Cherrybrook Technology High School, Klara Shroder - Pacific Hills Christian School, Dennis McCarthy - Normanhurst Boys High School & Kishandth Sivapalasundaram - Normanhurst Boys High School. The overall Winner & Public Speaking Winner was Dennis McCarthy (left in picture).

Lions Youth of the Year Quest 2009/10. This project was held at Dural Country Club on Friday 13th November 2009. The winner was Jessica Waterson of Cherrybrook Technology High School. Jessica now moves on to the Zone Competition to be held in early March 2010. Full story in Projects page and pictures in Gallery.


Friends of Warrah - Woolshed Dance 22nd August 2009 at Dural Country Club.662A Old Northern Rd. DURAL NSW 2158, was held on 22nd August and was a great success, and raised a little over $4000!

The Club has recently been involved with the Galston SpringFest. The Club was requested to assist with the erection of 14 banners along the main street and also to assist on the Official Opening and Street Parade.This Project raised $1520 for Club funds.

The event was very well attended and over 300 participated in the street parade. The main attraction was a live sheep shearing on the back of a Tobruck Sheep Station truck!
