The Lions Club of Hout Bay is proud to be one of the finest craft markets in the Western Cape, where crafters travel from far and wide to exhibit their crafts.
The market is open EVERY SUNDAY OF THE YEAR (weather permitting) from 10:00 - 17:00.
We are situated on the Village Green, Main Road, Hout Bay surrounded by magnificent mountains and dotted with indigenous trees. Many Hout Bay residents, local and overseas visitors make sure to have a trip to our market on their to do list.
The crafters themselves are a happy-go-lucky bunch who illustrate the peaceful country vibe that is Hout Bay.
The variety of craft is enormous including African curios, pottery, wire crafts, ostrich eggs, wooden sculptures, second hand book store and even pony rides.
Food stalls, we have those in abundance, a Malay kitchen, homemade soups in the winter and smoothies in the summer, hamburgers, toasted sandwiches, hotdogs, cool drinks, tea, coffee and pancakes. Vegetarian foods and falafels as well as cakes, doughnuts, ice cream and much more!
To enter Hout Bay from the Cape Town CBD could travel along the scenic coastal route past Llandudno ...you will find us on the Main Road and there is ample free parking - turn left at the Shell Garage and immediately right under the archway.Perhaps after visiting the market you could drive onto Cape Point via the famous Chapman's Peak Drive.
The Lions Club of Hout Bay Craft Market is an outing for the whole family, a place where one can browse and purchase, picnic and relax and just soak up the sun whilst enjoying the Hout Bay experience.
All funds created from the market are used to pay for a multitude of projects we cover in the valley, including elderly, disabled, diabetics, local clinics as well as a variety of youth projects.
