Killeen Evening Lions Club

"We Serve!"

Welcome to our Lions Den.  Please feel free to browse around and see what we are doing in our local community and around the world.  Our international motto is "We Serve!".  Our club has been in service to the world for over 54 years.

We have been very busy helping our community in a variety of service projects such as Operation Homefront (school supplies for military children),Texas Lions Camp clean-up, Kidsight Vision Screening, Beautify Killeen (Roadside clean-up at Lions Park), Bell County Crime Stoppers, Killeen Police Dept., Choose to Read Program (purchasing books for 1st and 2nd graders at local Elementary Schools) and several members of the club are doing individual community projects. Please come back to visit offten as the site will be updated as event happen or if something must be posted about up coming events.

Suporting our veterans is important to our club and when we supported and event serving a meal to our Vets in the Temple VA Hospital it was a great honor and pleasure for us.  Please if you get a chance to visit our veterans in their home or in the hospital take the time and let them know we care.  We helped serve a lunch meal to the veterans staying at the hospital at this event and are now looking forward to future service to them in the future.

Our Vision Screening project is going well this year.  We have screen all of the Headstart Centers and completed 154 Screening this year.  We will start adding screening of some adult to get the word out that the Lions are doing this and it is a great program to help prevent blindness aroung the world and in our local community.

Operation Home Front Back to School Supply Dive and Back to School Backpack Brigade donations to Willow Springs, Pershing Park, and Bellaire Elementary Schools.  This was a great way to end the service project by helping those in need and putting a smile on a child's face knowing that they will have supplies on the first day of school.  Thanks Operation Homefront for making this happen and thanks to all of the volunteers that donated your time.

Bingo at Rosewood Assistant Living with the residence.  We played BINGO and served them Ice Cream while we socialized with them.  We had a great time and look forward to doit it each month on the first Friday of each month.

Our Newsletter is put out once a month and if you have anything that you would like to be placed in it, please email PDG Lion Lawrence Sanchez at by the 25th of each month.

"Joining KELC is a great choice and we would be happy to have you as our guest at any meeting."
