Mill Park Baptist Church, Portland
The convention for District 36-O will be held on April 15, 2023, same time as before, same program as before, and same location as before. A new registration form is NOT needed, however, a revised registration form will be mail to the clubs for the purpose of attracting more members to attend our convention. A copy is attached for you to invite members of your club. If you have registered and find that you are unable to attend, please contact our registrar, Tom Hammond (jthammond@comcast.net) before March 30, 2023, and request a refund. After that date we will be guarantying lunches for attendees and can not provide a refund. The credentials that were mailed to your club are valid and should be brought to the convention for voting purposes. For those of you who are attending via ZOOM, the only change is the date. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you! For parking at the church, there is a fairly large lot with entrances off of 117th and off Market Street. There is also a small lot by the corner of 117th and Market but we will not be using that entrance although our Lion caterer will be parked there. We will put up sandwich board signs for Saturday to help guide the way. If it does fill up, the Lutheran Church on the other corner of 117th and Market is generously allowing us to use their lot for overflow parking. Thanks Lion Mary Karter for that connection! Join us for a really fun day at the 2023 GDB Fun Day! A wonderful service for a good cause, a great experience for all involved, and valuable exposure for LOLC and VE Club Branch! We will be there earlier this year to serve a pancake breakfast for the leaders of the various teams involved first, then switch to grilling the onions and burgers for the lunch. As always, Guide Dogs will purchase all of the supplies for both meals, and our team will do the cooking. (And, of course, eat, too!)
