Benefits & Requests of Membership

Each Lions Club strives for a membership that is an up-to-date and progressive representation of its community’s business, vocational and professional interests.  Our motto is “We Serve.”

Membership in Lions offers a number of benefits to you including:

• Effecting change within the community
• Developing leadership skills
• Gaining understanding of international humanitarian issues
• Developing relationships with other community leaders

In return for these benefits, each member has certain obligations to Lions Clubs International and others that are set by the local club.

Obligations as a Lakewood First Lions Club member are:

• Required to pay annual dues to their club, district, and Lions Clubs International (LCI), which include a $35 one-time initiation fee and annual dues of $100 annually
• Expected to participate in fundraising activities and community projects in support of the goal of “We Serve”
• Encouraged to aspire to leadership and committee roles within the club
• Meetings are held at noon on every 2nd and 4th Mondays at The Ram Restaurant in Lakewood
