Pancake Breakfast
Nothing breaks up the monotony of winter better than a great community breakfast and each spring the Maple Park Lions provide a tasty pancake breakfast with all the trimmings.  Usually taking place in early March, the breakfast is a great opportunity for everyone in the community to get together, get fed and visit.  The fresh buffet features the best pancakes around, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruits, juices, milk and coffee.  This breakfast ROCKS!

Mom’s Day Roses
The Maple Park Lions largest fundraiser of the year is the rose sale for Mother’s Day.  Almost 600 dozen roses of several varieties were delivered to grateful Moms all around the community.  Any extra roses that the Lions have at the end of the distribution party are hand delivered to special ladies in Maple Park.  This event takes months of planning and special effort on the part of all the members of the club to sell, acquire, prepare, and distribute a mountain of flowers.

Scholarships
Each year the Maple Park Lions award two $1000 scholarships to deserving graduates of Kaneland High School and the Fox Valley Career Center.  The students are asked to write an essay on a topic and their responses are judged by a panel of Lions club members.  We feel it is important to help inspire the youth of the community, and the recipients always

Maple Park Fest/Culver’s custard sale
In addition to helping sponsor Maple Park Fest, the Lions sell refreshing Culver’s custard to the festivals participants.  The Maple Park Legion graciously provides us a great location in their food tent near the beer garden and this ideal location for a dessert stand helps us always sell an amazing amount of custard.

50th Anniversary party
On July 28th, 2010 the Maple Park Lions will celebrate our 50th anniversary by throwing a party featuring the music of Back Country Roads, and other entertainment and attractions.  A special fireworks display is going to be the finale to the evening.

The Lions Club handed out over 500 free hotdogs and 250 ears of delicious sweet corn; both provided by very generous members, at this memorable event and wish to thank everyone who came to celebrate with us.  It was indeed a great way to commemorate the 50 years of service and dedication The Lions Club has provided for Maple Park.

Pictures with Santa
In conjunction with the Maple Park Legion, the Lions club sponsors a visit from Santa for the children of Maple Park upholding a long tradition of handing out dreams and sweets to the youth of the community.  Photos with Santa and a craft project help make memories and give the kids a great way to prepare for the holiday season.
