2022 Slinks Collecting - Annual Major Fundraiser

It is a busy time from the end of July through to around the start of October for dairy cow and goat farms.  Every year our club collects dead calves and receives monies from Waitoa Tannery for both the pick up and the animals.  This huge task sees our many of our members rostered on over a 6 day pick up schedule, one driver/lifter and one recorder of pickups made.  We own our own small truck with an electronic lifter on the side to perform this valuable but sometimes grosse task to both our farmers and our community.

We thank the many Matamata farmers whose animals are collected as they are donanted to our Lions club so that we can then in turn re-distribute the monies earnt back into our community via grants that are regularly applied for.
