CLUB HISTORY

1.     The first organizational Meeting was held on April 29, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mark Twain South County Bank, South County Centerway at Lemay Ferry Road.
2.     The second meeting was held on May 13, 1969 at the same place.
3.     Officially Organized on May 20, 1969. Robert L. Orf was elected as president.
4.     Chartered on Aug. 16, 1969 with ceremonies being held at the Biltmore Country Club, Highway 30, Fenton, Missouri. International Charter was presented by then District 26 Governor, Lion Don Gilbert.   
5.     Meeting dates were set for 7 P.M. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
6.      When chartered the official boundaries were: NORTH to Will Avenue, EAST to Telegraph Road, SOUTH to Meramec River, WEST to East Concord Road.
7.     When Chartered, Mehlville Lions Club was in Region 2, Zone 3 of District 26. Lions International Club Number: 009880, Ident. 1570.
8.     Charter Night Chairman Lion Jim Bryant was elected to make arrangements for the presentation on the Mehlville Lions Club Official Charter.

Sponsoring Lions Club was the Concord Village Lions Club. Lions Les Crecelius and Herb Kehres were the Guiding Lions, attending each of the Mehlville Lions Club Meetings for the first year.                  .
