Club Projects

WE SERVE THE PLAINS TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY BY: 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAY  - Members of the Plains Lions Club along with our great community of friends gathered at the Brick on November 23, 2022, to "SWITCH ON THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS" . The Plains Township Police and Fire Departments were there to block off the streets and Turkey Hill provided Hot Chocolate for free to keep us warm. Also, donations of Toys for Tots were accepted by the Plains Fire Department. Christmas Carols were sung by Broken Duo to keep our spirits jolly. Our Grand Marshall was John Corcoran Jr. who "SWITCHED ON "  our display for the festive season. 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE WITH SANTA CLAUS - Our Santa Claus parade was held on Saturday, November 26, 2022. The streets were lined up with eagerly awaiting residents of all ages to see the first glimpse of Santa Claus. Plains Township Police and Fire Departments were also in attendance for the parade. Many Plains organizations came out to support and be recognized for their fine work to keep Plains a vital and happy community. This year's Grand Parade Marshall was Lion Member John Corcoran Jr. 

ANNUAL AMBULANCE AND LIBRARY DONATIONS Plains Lions Club donated in June to our Plains Ambulance and the Library. 

ANNUAL FOOD PANTRY DONATIONSOn November 20, 2022, members of the Lions Club presented a check to Father Lambert in support to his food pantry for those in need. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for what we have and also to help someone in need. 

ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT - The Easter Bunny came to the Plains Township Pavilion on a beautiful Saturday, April 8, 2023, to host our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. We had approximately 150 children participate. Along with the Egg Hunt, we also set up a table to collect canned food for our local food pantries, collected gently used eyeglasses, and collected for White Cane. 

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - It was held on July 16, 2023,  at the Sand Springs Golf Course. Golfers from all over came to support us so we can make a difference  in the Plains community. We want to thank all of our loyal sponsors who graciously donated .

Participant in National Night Out hosted by Plains Township Police Department - hosted by our Plains Township Police Department was held August 1, 2023,  at the Plains Pavilion. The Lions Club had a Kidsight Screening  Booth for our children and also an informational booth to Learn what Lions Clubs do. It was a great night and a fabulous fireworks display ! 

KIDSIGHT PROGRAM - Lions Kidsight USA is a Lions Clubs International Foundation sponsored communtiy vision screening program focusing onI pre-kindergarten to elementary aged young people  to assist finding childten who are at risk for vision issues. 

OUTBACK COMMUNITY DINNER  was held on August 16, 2022, at the Plains Pavilion. It was a complete sold out event dinner. 750 Dinners were consumed by our ever-loving and supportive community. Proceeds go to Lions Club Projects.
