Service Activities

  • Flags for First Graders - In February Club members give a presentation on the U.S. flag to first grade classes in the area and each first grader receives a small desk flag with stand.

  • Student Vision Screenings - In the month of October, club members help perform vision screenings of all students in the North Santiam School District's elementary and middle schools. We also coordinate with St. Mary School for screenings as requested.

  • Used Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Collection - Used eyeglasses and hearing aids can be dropped off at our main collection box in Stayton(see below). They can also be placed in the small collection boxes inside Sublimity Eye Care in Sublimity or the Scio Post Office. Quarterly eyeglass sorting parties are held at Keizer Lions Club.

Like all service clubs, the Stayton Lions Club is an IRS 501 (c) (4) tax-exempt social welfare organization, NOT a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable or religious organization. What this means is that while the contributions we receive are not taxable to us, it also means your contributions to us are not tax-deductible charitable contributions by you and we cannot provide you a usable tax ID number for that purpose.
