Service Activities

  • Flags for First Graders - In February Club members give a presentation on the U.S. flag to first grade classes in the area and each first grader receives a small desk flag with stand.
     
  • Student Vision Screenings - In the month of October, club members work with the school district and the Oregon Lions Sight &  Hearing Foundation to help perform vision screenings of all students in the North Santiam School District's elementary and middle schools. We also coordinate with St. Mary School for screenings as requested.

     
  • Pioneer Park ProjectsOur club has recently adopted Pioneer Park in the City Adopt-A-Park program. Look for new Spring service projects coming soon!

First Project Completed - Waterway limb debris clean-up.
 

  • Pop-Up Food Drives - Four-hour food/donation drives for the Stayton Community Food Bank. Scheduled when appropriate.

     
  • Stayton Farmers Market Booth Host - Visit our full promotional booth at the Stayton Farmers Market on Wednesday, June 21st from 3pm-6pm. Corner of Third & Florence, Downtown Stayton.

     
  • Stayton 4th of July Celebration - Year 'round planning, fundraising and work to produce the annual Stayton Lions Club 4th of July Celebration for the entire community. More Info>>
     
  • Sublimity National Night Out Booth Host - Visit our full promotional booth at this great August event in Sublimity's Church Park. Enjoy live music and dinner.
     
  • Red Kettle Bell Ringing - In the month of December the club schedules with the Salvation Army to volunteer as Red Kettle bell ringers at Bi-Mart.

     
  • Used Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Collection - Used eyeglasses and hearing aids can be dropped off at our main collection box in Stayton(see below). They can also be placed in the small collection boxes inside Sublimity Eye Care in Sublimity or the Scio Post Office. Quarterly eyeglass sorting parties are held at Keizer Lions Club.

     
  • Fifth Tuesday Social Gatherings - Evening gathering of club members and guests on fifth Tuesday's of the month for socializing.

Service Support

  • Local Sight & Hearing Assistance - Provide financial assistance in getting eyeglasses and hearing aids for those in need who qualify. More Info>>

     
  • High School Scholarships - Provide one scholarship to a senior at both Stayton High School and Regis High School. ​2023 Scholarship Application>>  April 28th application deadline.

     
  • Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation Support We provide financial support to OLSHF at our District 36-R Convention Parade of Checks.

  • Can/Bottle Drives - ongoing club fundraiser. email staytonlionsclub@gmail.com to schedule pickup. More Info>>

     
  • 4th of July Parade Entry Fees - Proceeds from the 4th of July parade entry fees benefit club community projects and support.

     
  • Fall Butterbraid Sale Fundraiser - Butterbraid sale before Thanksgiving. Proceeds benefit club community projects and support.

     
  • Football Squares Raffle -  One hundred square raffle for the big game. Proceeds benefit club community projects and support.

     
  • Annual Stayton Lions Club Community Calendar - Creation and publication of our annual wall calendar featuring date listings of many local events and activities. Contact us today to get your local event listed in next year's calendar. 12 business advertising spots also available.

Like all service clubs, the Stayton Lions Club is an IRS 501 (c) (4) tax-exempt social welfare organization, NOT a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable or religious organization. What this means is that while the contributions we receive are not taxable to us, it also means your contributions to us are not tax-deductible charitable contributions by you and we cannot provide you a usable tax ID number for that purpose.
