Sun Prairie Lions Club and Foundation
"We serve by reaching, touching, and improving lives."

The Sun Prairie Lions Club and Foundation promotes this mission statement by implementing the following:

  1. Maintaining and increasing membership by encouraging the recruitment of new members.
  2. Building a sense of pride and spirit within our club by supporting and participating in Club projects and activities.
  3. Maintaining the financial strength of the club and encouraging self-sufficiency.

Our theme of reaching, touching, and improving lives results in a mission statement that is brief and emotionally powerful. It is the foundation of who and what we are as Lions Club members. We empower service to meet our community's needs: we save sight, fight diabetes, feed the hungry, support youth, and mobilize disaster relief.

Lions have a dynamic history. Lions serve. It's that simple, and it has been since we first began in 1917. Our clubs are places where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving their communities and the world.

Lions give sight. Lions are known throughout the world for their work to improve the lives of the visually impaired and prevent avoidable blindness. Ever since Helen Keller inspired us to champion the cause in 1925, we've served and advocated for the blind and visually impaired and remain committed to continuing this mission into our next century.

Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation, and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Wisconsin Lions Camps and Youth Exchange, and Lions Quest.

Lions are active. Our motto is "We Serve." Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
