The Westbank Lions were contacted  to see if we could provide a lunch for up to 30 persons on Sunday June 7th. Since one of the team parents is a friend of  a Lions member - we determined we could do this personally and take a donation to the Westbank Lions Club.

The Lions still had 2 boxes of 20 burgers in their freezer, so we used them - and since we do not have any events that need to provide lunch, this was an excellent donation toward their event.

Although on Sunday it was supposed to be wet it was very nice down at the Gellatly Nut Farm, In fact it was beautiful!

We took our Coleman Stove but pre cooked the burgers just before going down to the farm. With the Coleman stove we kept the burgers and onions warm and everyone received: Burger with onions, Chips, Juice and a big piece of Rice Crispy Squares.

Lion John and Lion Ricki came to help which was wonderful!

ACE Hoops Club Basketball is a development program to help youth athletes where Attitude, Confidence, and Effort transform players into champions within their sport. Our team is a dedicated team of all female basketball players that are determined to build their basketball skills over the summer to ensure they are bringing their best game forward. These girls have worked hard to fundraise the tournament fees for their second tournament. They travelled from Vernon to play three games at Mount Boucherie Secondary and one game at Kelowna Secondary School . Our two final games on Sunday will both be held at MBSS and we are really hoping to be able to find a communal way to ensure all the girls are recharged and refreshed coming out of their first game to head into their second.

An organizer Val wrote: " The lunch was amazing. We wanted to pass along a huge thank you. Lunch served at the nut farm was perfect, it really let everyone relax and the weather was amazing"
