Wilton Lions Club presents check to the G.D. Cushing School and Academy Hill School of Wilton
On the morning of January 13, 2026, the Wilton Lions Club demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the community by presenting a generous donation to two local schools. King Lion Charlie LaVerdiere presented a check to Keith Acedo, principal of the G.D. Cushing School and Academy Hill School.
The funds will be used to purchase essential winter apparel for the students, including gloves, boots, hats, and other necessary items. This donation aims to ensure that all children at the schools are adequately prepared for the winter season.
The donation was made possible through the Wilton Lions Bottle Fund, which is operated and administered by Lions Ken Wiley and Bill Groder. Their dedication to managing this fund enables the club to support important initiatives within the Wilton community. Bottles and cans can be donated year round at the Wilton Transfer Station, 211 Munson Road, Wilton, ME 04294 Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
