Christmas Food Collection 2011
On December 17th/18th last year (2011) Dudley Lions Club members along with friends and other Lions were out working for their community. We held a Charity Food Collection at the new Tesco Extra store in Dudley.
Once again the customers came up trumps and we had a really good response, some people still threw money into our buckets but this we spent in store to add to the collection and what a collection, It weighed in at a massive 433.6kgs nearly half a ton of food items.
Dudley Lion President Sue Bird said ‘’ The People of our area and The Black Country are normally generous but this was exceptional, I would like to thank everyone who donated. A lot of people had a much happier Christmas because of their generosity’’

Dudley Lions 100 Years of Service Celebration
Dudley Lions received a great deal of publicity after clocking up more than 100 years of service as fundraisers for borough residents and charities.
Anita Bowen said: “It is fantastic to be celebrating our anniversary with our long standing members and we are all keen to welcome new volunteers with fresh ideas to join us. Our club is great fun to be part of but Lions Clubs seem to be the world’s best kept secret. In reality we are in no way a secret society, we are simply ordinary people who do amazing things!”
