Meetings

 The club has been involved in a number of sustainable projects in the areas of  infrastructual development of educational facilities; water supply facilities to the inhabitants of dry and arid part of the country. Apart from major projects, club has been supporting many other major to medium scale activities taking up the challenges in reliving hunger; sponsoring eye-screening camps;promoting educational facilities. Few of them are described as below :  

Kaani Secondary School 

 

Kaani Nursery-Primary- Secondary School is our club's most ambitious and proud project as we have not only provided education facilities to hundreds of Children, but also expanded by building dormitories for the Boarding students and a state-of-the-art Administrative blocks at the school campus.

We are particuary proud to have International President Lion Dr. Jitsuhiro Yamada and other international delegates to pay a visit and inaugurating the facilities.

 Water Supply Projects

 

Club had taken up many water facilities projects in the past and wish to do more such projects to ease up the daily struggles to access clean drinking water to the villagers of dry and semi-dry areas. These facilities also provides them the opportunity to cultivate crops, make irrigation facilities and cultute fisheries. 

  • Club had build a borehole at the Gichagi village in Ngong hills. This borehole serves over 5,000 residents daily with clean water both for drinking and daily use.
  • Club had also sponsored a Borehole and Tank in Podo village about 40 Kms from Nairobi where it serves almost 3,000 residents with clean water for their daily use and irrigation.

Vision is our Mission

The club has been a frontrunner in various saving sights and preventive blindness projets. It continually associates with Lions Sight First Hospital, Loresho, Nairobi to hold or sponsor various eye screening camps; Sight for Kids programme or regular Outreach programmes.

  • Club has an annual service day of conducting mega eye screening and general health check-up camp. This year it held at Kaani Secondary School  serving 700+ people.
  • As a part of Sight for Kids Programme Club has conducted or associated itself with the Sight First Hospital in various local schools e.g St. Flanke's School, Ngong and Highridge Primary School serving almost 1000 kids. 
  • The identified cases of cataract or other eye ailments are appropriately referred to and followed up at the Hospital.
  • Club also sponsors Cornea Transplant Surgeries for the under-privileged and it has sponsored 30 paitents till date through its sponsorship programme.

Feeding Programmes

Club ceaselessly takes up the challenges of Relieveing the Hunger. It holds feeding activities, food donation on regular basis and also associates itself few organisations helping poor people and street children providing meals  as a continuous supporter i.e Anand Marg Children's Home; St. Flanke School and local Elderly Homes.

Disability is not Inability

The club members firmly believes that "Disability is not Inability" rather in most cases individuals are specially abled. They just need litttle support to get back to the normal course of life. In such bids, the club makes efforts to sponsor/donate wheel chairs to the orthopedically challenged individuals from needy sections of the society.
