The Dennis Harwich Lions Club will be hosting their Annual Meeting at the 400 East Restaurant on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The Social Hour is at 5:30 and the Dinner is at 6:00 pm.  If you would like to join us, please contact KL John Padgett at jpadgett@onebox.net.

NEW this year.  We are going to hold an INDOOR Lions Craft Fair which will be held on June 15, 2024 from 9-3.It will be held at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oal Street, Harwich, MA.  See the Flyer under Calendar of Events.

In 2017, the Dennis Harwich Lions Club celebrated 50 years of service to the Cape Cod community and beyond.  We were charted December 13, 1967 by then President John A. MacNaught, Jr. and 50 other men from Harwich and Dennis.  Since then we have sponsored other Lions Clubs in Chatham, Falmouth, and Sandwich.  We are always looking for new members!

We are well-known for our local service and fundraisers throughout the year.  100% of our donations are returned to the community both locally and internationally including:

• Sight loss education and prevention
• Collecting used eyewear and hearing aids which are sent worldwide
• Diabetes education and research
• Supporting Massachusetts Lions Eye Research 
• Worldwide Disaster Relief
• Offer use of Vitrectomy Chair for use after certain eye surgery
• Support local charities (Salvation Army, Food Pantries, Youth Recreation)

We support our youth by:

• Sponsoring individual college scholarships for students living in Dennis or Harwich.   
• Holding an annual High School Speech Contest where winners may compete at the State Level.
• Collecting used sporting equipment for those in need.
• Providing eye screening in local schools.

Our goal is to "Help Cure Preventable Blindness."  Our fundraising activities include sponsoring the Michael Brennan Closest to the Pin, and hosting an annual craft fair at the Brooks Park in Harwich.   We have placed donation canisters in our local businesses to assist with our Local Charity Program.
