The Wednesday noon Los Gatos Lions Club is now meeting in person.  The meetings will be held at 12 PM to 1:30 PM, at the Los Gatos Lodge. 50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road, Los Gatos 95032                                                                                                                  
August 21, 2024:  Annual Stanford Blood Drive sponsored by the Los Gatos Lions Club.  The blood drive will take place at the Los Gatos Lodge, El Gato Room, 50 Los Gatos Saratoga Rd., Los Gatos.  10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.   To Schedule an appointment Click here.

September 4, 2024:  Bill Diamond, CEO and President of SETI Institute  The SETI Institute is a non-profit research organization, located in the Silicon Valley close to the NASA Ames Research Center. Their mission is to lead humanity's quest to understand the origins and prevalence of life and intelligence in the universe and share that knowledge with the world. Bill has worked predominantly in applied technologies with over 20 years’ experience in photonics and optical communications, and more than a decade in X-ray and semiconductor processing technologies.  Bill held CEO positions at WaveSplitter Technologies, DenseLight Semiconductor, and Xradia, Inc., now part of Zeiss.  His photonics background also includes six years with AT&T Bell Laboratory’s Optoelectronics business unit and he served as President of US operations for the Swiss technology company, Comet A.G.                                                                                                                                                                 
September 11, 2024:  Dr. Art Low, Lions club member and retired optometrist.                                                                                                                       
September 18, 2024:  Jackie Ward, Director of the 55 Plus Program at the Los Gatos Saratoga Recreation Department.   The LGS Recreation 55 Plus program provides comprehensive free or low-cost programs for people age 55 and over. Membership is $30 annually and includes access to a variety of free groups, programs, classes, social events, guest lectures, and services. Members receive special discounts for Great Getaway Adult Day Trips, LGS Pickleball League, special events, social dances, and exclusive activities at Vasona Boating and the LGS Aquatics Center. Low-cost ZUMBA Gold and Water Workout Classes are offered exclusively to 55 Plus Members.

October 9, 2024:    Dave Poetzinger, Principal of Los Gatos High School.  This is Dave's first year as principal of the school.  He previously was on of the vice principals.                                                                                                                            
Octobert 16, 2024:   Mark Purdy, retired sports columnist for the Bay Area News Group, will be the featured speaker and introduce his new book, "The San Francisco 49ers: An illustrated Timeline".

November 6, 2024:   Los Gatos High School robotics program.  The highschool has a Robotics Applied Arts program for students in grades 9-12.  Robotics teacher Rodrigo Coppelli will be making the presentation and bringing a 125 lb. robot that the class has created. Their accomplishments are amazing.                                                                                                                         
December 4, 2024:   Presentation by Alice Dang, the outreach spokesperson with the Alzheimer’s Association.  The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.     "The Franchise: San Francisco 49ers: A Curated History of the Niners", was just released.                                                                                                 
December 11, 2024:
Pending:  Norma Lucía Piña Hernández, is a Mexican lawyer, educator, and President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation since January 2, 2023, being the first woman ever to hold that position. She's been a member of the Supreme Court since 1 December 2015, replacing Olga Sánchez Cordero.  Born: 1960 (age 63 years), Mexico City, Mexico.  Education: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, BENM - Benemérita Escuela Nacional de Maestros.                                                                                                                                                           
Pending:  Leslie Osborne, Bay FC, Women's National Soccer League.  Bay FC is the first NWSL team in the Bay Area.  Co-founded by four U.S. Women’s National Team legends—Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne—in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street, Bay FC is changing the face of women’s soccer as we know it.
