'We Serve'... and have fun doing it!
Whether it's performing KidSight vision screening for local youth or cooking supper for disabled children at Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, members enjoy making a difference in the lives of others.
- The Taylor Lions Club provides free Vision Screening for children 6-months and older at schools, Head Start, daycares and public events (upon request)
- We provide Eye Glasses and Eye Exams (primarily to yourth) at free or reduced rate based upon referrals from schools & other charitable partner organizations
- We collect used eye glasses at various locations around Taylor; we send them for reconditioning & reuse around the world
- We provide financial support for the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, a premier summer camp facility for children with diabetes and other physical disabilities
- We sponsor qualified area children for free sessions at the Texas Lions Camp.
- We help to fund Leader Dogs for the Blind and make this assistance available to visually impaired citizens in the local area
- We provide local financial support for Shepherd’s Heart, Habitat for Humanities, Red Santa, and other local charitable organizations
- We co-sponsor the City Parks & Rec Department's 'Summer in the Park' each summer in Robinson Park, providing food and refreshments
- We offer college & trade school scholarships for Taylor students
- We support state, national & international disaster relief efforts through the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF)
- We subsidize annual pet adoptions through the Taylor Animal Shelter
- And other needs which may arise throughout the year.

Leader Dogs for the Blind

This Leader Dogs for the Blind program was started in 1939 as the Lions Leader Dog Foundation. Although the name has changed, over 4,900 Lions Clubs around the world continue to contribute financially to this Leader Dog organization. They provide some fo the best trained leader dogs in the world. And Lions make many of these dogs available, free of charge, to community members in need.
