Welcome to the Brookfield CT Lions Website

Our Motto - "We Serve"

The Brookfield Lions Club will host our 15th annual Charity Fall Breakfast on Friday, November 22nd from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Michael’s at the Grove, 42 Vail Road in Bethel.  The Breakfast, our Club's second largest fundraiser, helps support the Brookfield Lions Charities, which include Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Brookfield Social Services & Food Pantry, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and many more.

The guest speaker this year is Dr. Cem Demirci, Medical Director for the Diabetes Program at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Demirci specializes in Type 1 Diabetes and he will discuss new technologies that help with the care and management of this disease, as well as the newly established Connecticut camp for children with diabetes.

To sign up to attend our annual Charity Fall Breakfast, learn about new developments in diabetes research, as well as support our Club, please

Another Successful Charity Golf Tournament is in the Books!

     A huge Thank You goes out to all of the golfers, sponsors and prize donators of our 37th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, as well as Fairview Farm Golf Course and the Brookfield Lions Club members for making this another very successful Tournament.  The day couldn’t have been better — great golf, terrific weather, fabulous food, and fun all around!  And congratulations to all of the winners — of the Tournament, of the contest holes, and of the many raffle prizes.  The ultimate winners, however, are our charity recipients.  100% of the profits from this tournament and all of the Lions fundraisers are donated to the many charities that the Brookfield Lions Club supports.

     Again, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another successful Tournament in August 2020!

Congratulations to the 2019 Brookfield Lions Raffle winners!

 The winners, whose tickets were drawn on Thursday, July 18th at 8:00 p.m., are:

$ 1,000          Kathleen

$    500                 Tary

And a big thank you to all those who purchased a chance to win big!  You helped support the Brookfield Lions Charities through our second largest fundraiser, and ultimately many deserving organizations and local citizens.  We appreciate your continued generosity.

Brookfield Lions - JDRF Strides to Cure Diabetes 5-Miler

Sunday, June 10th

Thank you to all the runners and the Brookfield Lions for supporting this annual Lions-JDRF event to promote diabetes awareness and research.

Brookfield Lions and KidSight USA

The Brookfield Lions are proud to be leading participants in Lions KidSight USA, pediatric vision screening for children aged 6 months through 6 years. In Connecticut, KidSight is a program of the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation through its Lions Eye Health Program.

According to educational experts, 80% of learning is visual. If children can’t see well, it is much more difficult for them to learn efficiently.  That’s why Lions KidSight USA was established.

Using a sophisticated camera, KidSight can identify six eye problems which often afflict young people. Vision problems undetected by the age of 7 can become permanent. The WelchAllyn SPOT camera will identify:

  • Astigmatism: irregularly shaped corneas or lenses
  • Myopia: nearsightedness
  • Hyperopia: farsightedness
  • Strabismus: misalignment of the eyes
  • Anisometropia: unequal refractive power
  • Anisocoria: pupil size anomalies

During the 2016-2017 school year, the Brookfield Lions conducted vision screenings at 19 venues (mostly preschools and elementary schools) for almost 1500 students.  The Lions referred about 200 to see a doctor for a complete eye checkup.  Throughout western Connecticut, Lions screened over 12,000 and referred almost 2,000.  Statewide and nationally the numbers are even larger.  That is thousands of children who have been set on a course of better vision and hopefully more academic achievement.

Lions are happy to have KidSight to help fulfill our commitment to Helen Keller to be “Soldiers in the Fight Against Darkness”.

35th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Brookfield Lions Club extends a huge thank you to the 68 golfers and all of the sponsors for another successful golf outing at Fairview Farm Golf Course in Harwinton, CT.   The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was fun, and all enjoyed a day of lunch, golf, dinner and raffle prizes.

Thanks also go out to the Golf Committee and all the volunteers who helped make this fundraiser a success.

The beneficiaries of this event are the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation (supporting eye research projects at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the University of Connecticut Medical Center), Lions Low Vision Centers, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and related eye care, vision and health associations throughout the state. Our club also supports many organizations and groups in our local community, namely Regional Hospice, Ability Beyond, Senior Center, Youth Outreach, Drug Awareness, Community Garden and many others.

Where there's a need, there's a Lion!

Every year, the Brookfield Lions Club provides much needed goods and monetary donations to many organizations that benefit our local community.  We live and work in Brookfield and we give back to Brookfield.  We are proud to be a valuable resource to those in need.    Below is a thank you letter from the Town of Brookfield Department of Social Services, only one of many organizations to benefit from our Club's donations.
